Slainte salar is the salmon artwork created by Deeside artist and Trustee of the River Dee Trust, Mel Shand.
The Trust commissioned the original painting for the label of the Dee Dram limited edition Scottish whisky. Only 200 signed, limited edition giclee prints of this iconic leaping salmon painting are to be produced.
Slainte salar translates from gaelic as “good health [to] the leaper” (pronounced slange salar) and is a fitting toast and tribute to our Dee salmon.
